Staxyn (Generic name: Vardenafil HCl) is a new ED medication used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (also known as impotence). Staxyn is the first and only erectile dysfunction medication in an orodispersible formulation (orally disintegrating tablet that rapidly dissolves on the tongue without liquid). Staxyn contains the active ingredient Vardenafil. It is a phosphodiesterase-PDE5 which is an effective oral drug that used to treat impotence. Vardenafil works by increasing the blood flow to achieve and maintain an erection. However, use of Staxyn does not protect against sexually transmitted disease (e.g., hepatitis B, HIV). Take Staxyn exactly as prescribed for you.
The most common Staxyn side effects are diarrhea, dizziness, flu like symptoms, flushing, headache, nausea, and stomach upset. If you are experiencing any severe side effects including chest pain, erection that lasts more than 4 hours, heart attack or stroke, low blood pressure, vision problems, and a sign of serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.
Do NOT take Staxyn oral if you are allergic to Vardenafil or any of the ingredients in Staxyn medication. Before taking Staxyn, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as angina, blood cell or bleeding problems, eye disorders, hearing problems, heart disease, liver or kidney problems, low or high blood pressure, phenylketonuria, seizures, stomach ulcers, stroke. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Staxyn drug, especially of: alpha blockers, nitrates and other ED medicines. Staxyn should not be used in women and children.
