Actoplus Met (Generic name: Pioglitazone HCI and Metformin HCI) is a combination of two oral diabetic medications that help control blood sugar levels. Acoplus Met is for patients with type 2 diabetes who do not use daily insulin injections. Actos decreases insulin resistance — a condition in which the cells in your body have become resistant to a hormone (called insulin) that lets them turn blood sugar (glucose) into energy.
