CiproDex Otic Suspension (Generic name: Ciprofloxacin 0.3% and Dexamethasone 0.1%) is a combination antibiotic medication used to treat bacterial ear infections, including acute otitis media and acute otitis externa in pediatric (age six months or older) and adults. Ciprofloxacin is a quinolone-type antibiotic and Dexamethasone is an inflammatory corticosteroid. They work works by stopping the growing of bacteria and reducing ear swelling and discount. CiproDex Otic is used only in bacterial ear infections. It work not work for other type of ear infections. Use CiproDex Otic Suspension exactly as it was prescribed for you.
The most common CiproDex Otic side effects are abnormal taste, discomfort, itching, or pain in the ear. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as confusion, depression, faint, hallucinations, mental/mood changes, suicidal thoughts, tremors, or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.
Do not use CiproDex Otic if you are allergic to Ciprofloxacin or corticosteroids or any of the ingredients in CiproDex Otic medication. Before using CiproDex sterile, tell your doctor if have had certain medical conditions such as ear infections caused by a virus herpes simplex.
