Enstilar Aero Foam is a prescription topical skin medication used to treat plaque psoriasis in adults 18 years of age and older. Enstilar Aero Foam contains two ingredients: Calcipotriol and Betamethasone. Calcipotriol belongs to a class of medications known as vitamin D analogues and works by controlling the production of skin cells. Whereas, Betamethasone belongs to a class of medications known as corticosteroids which works to help reduce redness, thickening and scaling of the skin that occurs with this condition. This medication works by slowing down the growth of skin cells, so they don’t turn into thickened scaling skin patches. Do not take this medication If you are allergic. Talk to your doctor if you have a medical history of calcium metabolism disorder, perioral dermatitis (skin lesions around the mouth), ichthyosis (dry, scaly skin), acne, rosacea, ulcers, broken skin, kidney dysfunction, liver dysfunction, thin skin, easily damaged veins, stretch marks, tuberculosis skin lesions, skin infections, viral diseases (herpes simplex), varicella (chickenpox), or bacterial skin infections.
