Zioptan (generic name: Tafluprost) is a sterile ophthalmic solution used to reduce intraocular pressure and prevent or reduce the symptoms of open-angle glaucoma. Zioptan was recently approved by the FDA, and is the first prostaglandin solution that is completely preservative free. Zioptan belongs to a group of medications called prostaglandin analogs. Prostaglandins work by increasing the flow of fluid in the eye, reducing the intraocular pressure. This buildup of fluid eventually presses on the optic nerve, and can cause glaucoma. If left untreated, glaucoma will cause blindness.

Zioptan Side Effects:
