Xepi (Ozenoxacin) is a type of cream that belongs to a class of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics. Xepi is made for topical use only; it is not intended for oral, ophthalmic, intranasal, or intravaginal use. Xepi cream is used to treat impetigo, a skin infection which is caused by the presence of Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pyogenes in adults as well as in pediatric patients 2 months of age and older. The cream works by preventing the growth of certain bacteria. This medication is only meant for the skin. Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area as directed by your doctor, twice a day. The treated area may be covered with a bandage or gauze after applying the cream.
