Zyclara Cream (Generic name: Imiquimod 3.75%) is a topical prescription used for treatment of multiple actinic keratoses (AK) located on the face or balding scalp in adults with normal immune system. Actinic keratosis is a precancerous skin condition caused by chronic sun exposure. If left untreated, Actinic Keratosis can lead to squamous cell carcinoma, a form of non-melanoma skin cancer. Zyclara Cream works by stimulating the body own immune system to recognize and respond to clear AK lesions safely and effectively. It is very important that you follow the instructions to use Zyclara Cream.
Zyclara Cream is generally well tolerated. The most common Zyclara Cream side effects include fatigue, headache, irritation, and itching at the application site. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as breathing problem, cough, chest pain, fainting, irregular heartbeat, and serious allergic reaction (difficult breathing; hives; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.
Do NOT use Zyclara Cream if you are allergic to Imiquimod or any of the ingredients in Zyclara medication. Before using Zyclara Cream, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions, especially of: immune system problems and other skin diseases.
