Aloxi Information:

Aloxi (Generic name: Palonosetron HCl injection) is a drug used for prevention and treatment of chemotherapy induced nausea & vomiting (CINV). Palonosetron HCl is an anti-nausea medication known as an antiemetic by clocking the actions of chemicals in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting. Aloxi is given as a single injection, often given through the same intravenous (IV) line as your chemotherapy. Take Aloxi iexactly as prescribed.

Aloxi Side Effects:

The most common Aloxi side effects include abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, insomnia, and tired feeling. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as anxiety, fainting, fast/irregular heartbeat, fever, hypersensitivity, urination problem, or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction (itching, rash, swelling, trouble breathing), please inform your doctor immediately.

Aloxi Precautions:

Do NOT use Aloxi injection if you are allergic to palonosetron or any of the ingredients in Aloxi mediation. Before taking Aloxi, tell your doctor about all medical history especially if you have a heart problem. Aloxi dosing should occur 30 minutes before the start of chemotherapy. Tell your doctor if you are taking other medications or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
