Lacrisert Opht Insert Information:

Lacrisert (Generic name: Hydroxypropyl Cellulose Ophthalmic Insert) is an insert that is placed in your eye to relieve the symptoms associated with moderate to severe dry eye syndromes, including keratoconjunctivitis sicca. It is usually used when an artificial tears solution is not successful. It helps to retain eye moisture, decrease symptoms of dry eyes such as burning, itching, discomfort, and lubricate the eye. Follow the patient instructions for inserting and moving Lacrisert ophthalmic carefully.

Lacrisert Opht Insert Side Effects:

The most common Lacrisert side effects are eye discomfort, irritation, redness, tearing, sensitivity to light, and temporary blurred vision. If any effects persist or worsen such as eye pain, vision changes or a sign of allergic reactions (e.g., difficult breathing; itching; rash; swelling), remove the insert or inform your doctor immediately.

Lacrisert Opht Insert Precautions:

Do NOT use Lacrisert if you are sensitivity to Hydroxypropyl Cellulose or any of the ingredients in Lacrisert medication.
