Nilandron Information:

Nilandron (Generic name: Nilutamide) is a prescription medication used to treat men with prostate cancer, and is used aster surgery (removal of the testicles) or with other medications. Nilandron contains the active substance Nilutamide. Nilutamide is an effective new hormone therapy. It is classified as an "anti-androgen" drug. It blocks the effects of testosterone in the body thereby slowing the growth and spread of cancer cells. Take Nilandron exactly as it is prescribed for you.

Nilandron Side Effects:

The most common Nilandron side effects are constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, hot flashes, impotence, loss of appetite, nausea, weakness, and vomiting. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, fever, irregular heartbeat, jaundice, urination pain, and serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; hives; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.

Nilandron Precautions:

Do NOT take Nilandron if you are allergic to Nilutamide or any of the ingredients in Nilandron medication. Before taking Nilandron oral, tell your doctor if you have had medical conditions, especially of: asthma or lung disease, liver disease. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Nilandron drug, especially of: phenytoin, theophylline, and warfarin. Nilandron therapy is for men only and not for pregnant or breast-feeding women.
