Oseni Information:

Oseni (Alogliptin and Pioglitazone) is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. Oseni is used together with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control. Oseni is not for treating type 1 diabetes. Oseni contains two medications, Alogliptin and Pioglitazone. Alogliptin works by slowing the inactivation of incretin, and by doing so increasing the levels of incretin, which allows for better glycemic control. Pioglitazone increases the transportation of insulin-responsive genes involved in glucose and metabolism, leading to better metabolic and blood sugar control. You should not use Oseni if you have severe heart failure, bladder cancer, or diabetic ketoacidosis. Tell your doctor if you have ever had liver disease, kidney disease, eye problems cause by diabetes, or pancreatitis. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, as your dose may need to be different and there may be risks. Stop taking Oseni and call your doctor immediately if you have symptoms of pancreatitis, which includes nausea or vomiting, and upper stomach pain that spreads to your back. If you experience any serious side effects of signs of an allergic reaction, seek emergency medical attention.
