Potiga Information:

Retigabine (Generic name: Ezogabine, also known as Potiga in the US and Trobalt outside the US) is new anti-seizure medication used as an adjunctive treatment of partial onset seizures caused by epilepsy, with or without secondary generalisation in adults patients. Partial seizure are a form of seizures which affect only a part of the brain at onset, which caused a wide range of symptoms including muscle rigidity and spasms, unusual sensations, memory or emotional disturbances, loss of consciousness or convulsions. Retigabine contains the novel anticonvulsant drug Ezogabine, a neuronal potassium channel opener works by opening potassium channels to reduce the frequency of seizures in patients. Take Retigabine exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Potiga Side Effects:

The most common Retigabine side effects include diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, headache, speech disorders, and tremor. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as confusion, hallucinations, fever, muscle pain, lack of coordination, vision problems, worsening seizures, and serious allergic reaction (rash, hives, difficult breathing, swelling of the lips, throat or tongue), please inform your doctor immediately.

Potiga Precautions:

Do NOT take Retigabine if you are allergic to Ezogabine or to any of the ingredients in Retigabine medication. Before taking Retigabine oral, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as liver or kidney problems, epilepsy or seizure, bleeding or blood clotting disorder, diabetes, glaucoma, high blood pressure, bipolar disorder, drug abuse, suicidal or agitated behaviour. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Retigabine drug, especially of: other antiepileptic medications. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
