Tekamlo Information:

Tekamlo (Generic name: Aliskiren and Amlodipine, also called Rasilamlo in EU) is prescription medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Tekamlo is a single-pill combination of two leading anti-hypertensive medicines for the treatment of high blood pressure – Aliskiren and Amlodipine. Aliskiren (Tekturna, also called Rasilez) is the only approved direct renin inhibitor (DRI), and Amlodipine (Norvasc) is a widely used calcium channel blocker (CCB). They work together to relax blood vessels and improve the blood flow easily. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent heart disease, kidney problems, and stroke. Take Tekamlo exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Tekamlo Side Effects:

The most common Tekamlo side effects are cough, diarrhea, dizziness, flushing, headache, light-headedness, and upset stomach. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, confusion, fast heartbeat, low blood pressure (hypotension), and a sign of serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.

Tekamlo Precautions:

Do NOT use Tekamlo oral if you are allergic to Aliskiren or Amlodipine or any of the ingredients in Tekamlo medication. Do NOT use Tekamlo after your meal. Before using Tekamlo tablets, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as any allergies, congestive heart failure (CHF), heart diseases, kidney or liver disease, low levels of potassium or magnesium. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Tekamlo drug, especially of: atorvastatin (Lipitor), certain antifungal mediations, diuretic, potassium supplement or salt substitutes, other medicines for heart and high blood pressure.
