Teveten Information:

Teveten (Generic name: eprosartan) is an angiotensin II receptor blocker. This group of medications works to lower mild to moderate high blood pressure. Blood pressure is lowered by Teveten's relaxing of the blood vessels. Teveten usually takes around 3 weeks for its full effects to be noted. Take Teveten exactly how your doctor prescribed it for you.

Teveten Side Effects:

Teveten side effects include abdominal, joint, muscle or back pain, diarrhea, or headache. These side effects are likely to go away as your body gets used to Teveten. Talk to your doctor if symptoms become bothersome or do not cease. Rare side effects include abnormal vision, anxiety, cold- or flu-like symptoms, constipation, dry mouth or low blood pressure. Patients may experience side effects not listed here. Talk to your doctor about side effects or potential drug interactions before taking Teveten.

Teveten Precautions:

Do NOT take Teveten if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the medication. Talk to your doctor about medication interactions. Teveten can interact with certain medications, increasing the risk of side effects or affecting how Teveten works. These medications include: diuretics, lithium, potassium supplements, or medications that affect the levels of potassium in the blood (such as spironolactone or amiloride). Talk to your doctor before using Teveten if you have, or have a history of, any of these conditions: kidney or liver problems, or low blood pressure. Teveten should not be used in pregnant or lactating women. Sufficient studies have not been completed. Talk to your doctor about using Teveten while breastfeeding. Keep Teveten away from children.
