Zelapar Information:

Zelapar (Generic name: Selegiline Hydrochloride) is a prescription medication used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, either used alone or together with levodopa/carbidopa. Selegiline HCl works by helping Levodopa to work against Parkinson’s disease for more active hours. Take Zelapar tablets as prescribed.

Zelapar Side Effects:

The most common Zelapar side effects are back pain, constipation, dizziness, dyskinesia, dyspepsia, headache, insomnia, rhinitis, sore throat, weakness and etc. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, confusion, fainting, hallucinations, numbness, painful urination, seizures, and symptoms of an allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; hives; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately. Zelapar is known to cause severe liver problems and should be discontinued if any early signs of liver damage.

Zelapar Precautions:

Do NOT take Zelapar oral if you are allergic to Selegiline HCl or to any of the ingredients in Zelapar medication. Before taking Zelapar, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions, including: heart disease, high or low blood pressure, kidney or liver disease, phenylketonuria (PKU), seizure disorder, vision problems, and etc. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Zelapar drug, especially of: cough or cold medicines, MAO inhibitors, methadone, propoxyphene, and tramadol. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Eating foods that are high in tyramine can raise the blood pressure to dangerous levels and cause life-threatening symptoms. You may have increased sexual urges or other intense urges while taking Zelapar medication.
