Accuretic 10 Information
Accuretic 10 (Quinapril/HCTZ) is used to treat high blood pressure. High blood pressure often has no symptoms. However, lowering high blood pressure can prevent complications such as heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems. Accuretic 10 is a combination medicine containing Quinapril and HCTZ. ACE (angiotensin-converting enzyme) inhibitors like Quinapril relax the blood vessels to promote easy blood flow. Diuretics like HCTZ help your body make more urine to eliminate excess salt and water.
Accuretic 10 Side Effects
The most common side effects of Accuretic 10 may include headache, tiredness, muscle pain, and dizziness. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Blurred vision;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, breathing difficulties, itching, or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat;
• Signs of high potassium, such as nausea, tingling feeling, irregular heartbeats, and chest pain;
• Unusual dry mouth
Accuretic 10 Precautions
Do not use Accuretic 10 if you are allergic to Quinapril, HCTZ, or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have Angioedema, Kidney problems, Liver disease, Dehydration, Skin cancer, Untreated mineral imbalances, Gout, Diabetes, Lupus, Urination problems, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Accuretic 10 and other medications, such as lithium, temsirolimus, doxycycline, aspirin, losartan, ciprofloxacin, etc.
Take this drug at least 4 hours before or at least 4 to 6 hours after taking a cholesterol-lowering drug like cholestyramine. Do not take Accuretic 10 within 36 hours before or after taking a medicine containing sacubitril. Do not use Accuretic 10 if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. This drug may harm an unborn baby, especially if used during the second or third trimester. Use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy when using this medication. Do not use Accuretic 10 while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. This medication passes into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant. Do not give this drug to children younger than 18 years old. Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take this drug by mouth, with or without food, usually once daily in the morning. It is best to take this medicine at least 4 hours before bedtime. Using the drug too close to bedtime may cause you to wake up to urinate.
High blood pressure often has no symptoms. Use this drug regularly to get the most benefit out of it. Accuretic 10 may increase your risk of dizziness. Get up slowly from a sitting or lying position to reduce the risk of dizziness. You may experience dehydration when using the drug. Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. Accuretic 10 may increase your skin sensitivity. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing outdoors to reduce your risk of sunburn. Your doctor may prescribe Accuretic 10 as part of a comprehensive treatment that includes lifestyle changes like exercising, losing weight, eating a low-fat diet, and stopping smoking. Store this medication at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it out of the reach of children.
