Anthelios Sunscreen Information

Anthelios Sunscreen (UV Protection) is used to prevent sunburn and, when used as directed with other sun-protection measures, to decrease the risk of skin cancer and premature skin aging caused by the sun. Sunburn is a red, painful skin reaction caused by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or tanning beds. Anthelios Sunscreen provides broad-spectrum (UVA/UVB) protection with a high sun protection factor (SPF) of 60. UV Protection works by absorbing, reflecting, or scattering ultraviolet (UV) radiation at the skin surface. Chemical filters (e.g., avobenzone, octocrylene) absorb UVA/UVB energy and dissipate it as low-level heat. Mineral filters (zinc oxide, titanium dioxide) physically block/reflect UV. Anthelios products combine filters to achieve broad-spectrum protection.

Anthelios Sunscreen Side Effects

The most common side effects of Anthelios Sunscreen may include contact dermatitis in sensitive individuals, mild skin irritation, and transient stinging or burning if applied near the eyes. Discontinue use and seek medical advice if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Signs of hypersensitivity, such as rash or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat

Anthelios Sunscreen Precautions

Do not use Anthelios Sunscreen if you are allergic to any ingredients in this product. Before you start using this product, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have broken or severely damaged skin, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Anthelios Sunscreen and other topical products that increase sun sensitivity, such as retinoids and alpha-hydroxy acids. UV Protection is commonly used during pregnancy and while breastfeeding due to its limited systemic absorption. However, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before using Anthelios Sunscreen. Do not use this product on children younger than 6 months old without consulting your doctor or dermatologist.

Use this product as directed on the product label. Anthelios Sunscreen comes as a lotion. Apply liberally to all exposed skin 15 minutes before sun exposure. Please do not take it by mouth. Use about one teaspoon for the face. Reapply at least every 2 hours or after swimming, toweling, or excessive sweating. Anthelios sunscreen is non-whitening, fast-absorbing, and suitable under makeup. Do not use on broken or severely damaged skin. Avoid contact with the eyes. If the product gets in the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. Store Anthelios Sunscreen at room temperature, protect from excessive heat. Keep out of reach of children.
