Arazlo Information

Arazlo (tazarotene) is a medicated skin cream which helps the skin to renew itself faster and may work to improve the skin texture and appearance. Arazlo, 0.045% treats people ten years of age and older with acne, which can include blackheads, whiteheads, and other pimples, including inflammatory lesions, nodules and cysts. This medicated cream belongs to the acetylenic class of retinoids. This medication works by affecting the growth of skin cells, also helps clear acne on the face by keeping the skin pores clear.

Arazlo Side Effects

Common Side effects of Arazlo include:
• Dryness and peeling of skin with scaly texture;
• Itching/irritation of treated skin;
• Skin pain, redness, or burning

Contact your physician immediately if any of these adverse effects occur:
• Blistering or peeling of the skin;
• Severe redness or discomfort;
• Severe skin irritation (pain, dryness, peeling, flaking, burning, stinging, itching) on application of medicated cream;
• Signs of skin infection (swelling, warmth, oozing)

Arazlo Precautions

Do not use this medication if you are allergic to it or any of the ingredients in it or any vitamin A related drugs as well as retinoids. Inform your doctor of any other medications that you use as they may interact negatively with Arazlo. Inform your doctor if you use prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. If you use benzoyl peroxide acne medication, do not use it at the same time you use Arazlo, apply one medication only in the morning and the other only in the evening to keep the timing separate and to allow both medications to absorb into the skin. You must inform your physician if you take antibiotics or other medications that make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. You should inform your doctor of your medical history if you have:
• Eczema, or other skin conditions;
• Sunburn;
• Skin cancers (lentigo maligna etc.)

You should also inform your doctor if you work outdoors. Do not use Arazlo if you are pregnant as it can harm an unborn child, use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy while on this medication inform your doctor if you do become pregnant. Consult your doctor before breast feeding your child. Arazlo lotion is not for use in children under 9 years old.
