Auvelity Information

Auvelity (Bupropion Hydrochloride/Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide) is used to treat Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Major Depressive Disorder (MDD causes a persistently low and depressed mood and loss of interest in activities you used to enjoy. Antidepressants like Bupropion Hydrochloride and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide restore the balance of natural substances like dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain to improve mood.

Auvelity Side Effects

The most common side effects of Auvelity may include diarrhea, weight loss, increased sweating, dry mouth, and appetite loss. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Breathing difficulties;
• Fast heartbeat;
• Seizure;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, breathing difficulties, or itching or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat

Auvelity Precautions

Do not use Auvelity if you are allergic to Bupropion Hydrochloride, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have or have had seizures, diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, an eating disorder, glaucoma, or heart problems. Tell your doctor if you think you may be pregnant or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Auvelity and other medications, like theophylline, losartan, Adderall, and clonazepam. Do not use Auvelity if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. Taking Auvelity in pregnancy may harm your unborn baby. Do not use Auvelity while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. Bupropion Hydrochloride passes into your breastmilk, and it may harm nursing infants. This drug is not safe for use in children. It may harm them. Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not chew, crush, or break the tablets. You can take the drug with or without food. Your doctor will recommend frequent tests to check your blood pressure while using the drug. Avoid drinking alcohol when using Auvelity. It can increase your chances of having a seizure. This drug may make you dizzy. Stand up slowly from a sitting or lying position to reduce the risk of dizziness. Do not drive or use machinery until you can do it safely. Store this medication at room temperature and keep it out of the reach of children.
