Avodart Information:

Avodart (Generic name: Dutasteride) is a prescription medication used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with enlarged prostates. BPH is a noncancerous enlargement of the prostate gland that usually occurs in men after the age of 50. Dutasteride works to reduce the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that causes enlargement of the prostate gland. It helps improve urinary symptoms, reduce the risk of acute urinary retention (AUR), and reduce the risk of prostate-related surgery. Avodart Dutasteride is also treat hair loss. Take Avodart tablets exactly as it was prescribed for you.



Avodart Side Effects:

Avodart causes no or little side effects that did not affect most men. The possible Avodart side effects include abnormal ejaculation, breast enlargement and tenderness, decreased libido, erectile dysfunction (ED) or impotence. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest tightness, difficult breathing, hives, itching, rash, swelling of the eyelids/face/lips, inform your doctor immediately.

Avodart Precautions:

Do NOT take Avodart if you are allergic to Dutasteride or finasteride or any of the ingredients in Avodart medication. Before taking Avodart oral, tell your doctor if you have had medical conditions, especially of: any allergies, bladder problems, prostate cancer, urinary tract disease, liver or kidney disease. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Avodart drug. Especially of: antidepressants, antifungals, HIV/AIDS medicines. It may take 3 to 6 months before you notice an improvement of your symptoms after using Avodart. Check with your doctor if you experience no improvement in your symptoms. Avodart should NOT be used by children, adolescents and women. Do NOT donate blood until at least 6 months after the end of treatment with Avodart.
