Benicar Information:

Benicar (Generic name: Olmesartan Medoxomil) is a prescription medication used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. The active ingredient in Benicar is Olmesartan Medoxomil. Olmesartan belongs to a class of drugs called Angiotensin II Receptor Blockers. It keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow and it helps the kidneys to eliminate extra fluid. Benicar may be used alone or in combination with other medicines to treat high blood pressure. Take Benicar tablets as prescribed for you.

Benicar Side Effects:

The most common Benicar side effects are back pain, cough, diarrhea, dizziness, flu symptoms, headache, nausea, skin rash, stomach pain, sweating, weakness, and etc. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as blurred vision, decreased sexual ability, fainting, irregular heartbeat, muscle pain, nervousness, swelling in your hands or feet, urination problem, or signs of a serious allergic reaction (e.g., chest pain; difficult breathing; hives; itching; rash; swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat), please inform your doctor immediately.

Benicar Precautions:

Do NOT take Benicar oral if you are allergic to Olmesartan or ACE inhibitors; or any of the ingredients in Benicar medication. Before taking Benicar, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as congestive heart failure, dehydrated, high blood levels of potassium, kidney or liver disease. Tell your doctor about all the prescriptions and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Benicar drug, especially of: cough-and-cold products, diet aids, diuretics (water pills), lithium, NSAIDs, potassium supplements.
