Biacna Topical Gel Information:

Biacna (Generic name: Clindamycin Phosphate and Tretinoin) is a prescription medication used for the treatment of acne vulgaris. Biacna is a combination of an antibiotic Clindamycin Phosphate and a retinoid Tretinoin, formulated as a topical gel. The two ingredients work together by preventing growth of bacterial associated with acne and increasing the normal skin cell production. Call for a doctor’s evaluation after Biacna treatment of 12 weeks. Use Biacna topical gel exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Biacna Topical Gel Side Effects:

The most common Biacna side effects are abdominal pain, diarrhea, gas, headache, nausea, respiratory disorders, and application site reactions (e.g., burning, irritations). If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as bloody diarrhea, inflamed colon (colitis), skin color changes, or symptoms of an allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; hives; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.

Biacna Topical Gel Precautions:

Biacna is only applied topically; not for oral, ophthalmic, or vaginal use. Do NOT use Biacna gel if you are allergic to Clindamycin or Tretinoin or any ingredients in Biacna medication. Before using Biacna, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may intereact with Biacna topical gel. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
