Biacna Topical Gel Information
Biacna Topical Gel (Clindamycin Phosphate/Tretinoin) treats acne vulgaris. Acne is a prevalent skin condition that causes pimples. Clogged pores cause acne. Teenagers and young adults often get acne, but it can also occur during adulthood for many people. Antibiotics like Clindamycin phosphate kill Cutibacterium acnes, the bacteria causing the acne. Retinoids like Tretinoin work by unclogging the pores and promoting skin cell turnover.

Do not use Biacna Topical Gel if you are allergic to Clindamycin Phosphate, Tretinoin or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have regional enteritis, a history of colitis caused by antibiotics, other skin conditions, such as eczema, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Biacna Topical Gel and other medications, such as benzoyl peroxide and other topical medications. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant before using Biacna gel. It is unknown if this medicine will harm an unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed. It is unknown if this medicine passes into breast milk or if it may harm a nursing infant. Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Biacna Topical Gel comes as a gel. Apply this medicine to the affected skin only. Please do not take it by mouth. Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Gently wash your face with a mild soap or cleanser and warm water. Pat the skin dry with a soft towel. Ensure your face is completely dry before applying the gel. It's often recommended to wait 20-30 minutes after washing your face to ensure it's fully dry, as applying tretinoin to damp skin can increase irritation. Squeeze out a pea-sized amount of the gel and dot it lightly onto your chin, cheeks, forehead, and nose. Evenly spread a thin layer over the affected areas of your face. Avoid applying it only to individual pimples. Wash your hands thoroughly after application with soap and water. Allow the gel to dry completely on your skin before applying other skincare products or going to bed. It may take several weeks or even months to see a noticeable improvement in your acne. Continue using the medication as prescribed, even if you don't see immediate results. During the first few weeks of treatment, your acne may appear to worsen as the medication starts to work on blemishes under the skin. This is usually temporary. If you experience excessive dryness, you can use a non-comedogenic (non-pore-clogging) moisturizer in the morning after washing your face and applying sunscreen. Tretinoin can increase your sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid ultraviolet light and other sources of radiation, like tanning beds. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and wear protective clothing outdoors. Store Biacna Topical Gel at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
