Cantharone Information:

Cantharone (Generic name: Cantharidin) is a blistering solution used to treat viral conditions like warts and mollusca. Cantharone medication should be applied by a doctor of medical professional. After the application, a band-aid or piece of medical tape will usually be applied to the affected area and stay on for up to four hours. After the four hours, you should remove the tape and then wash the area completely. Use Cantharone treatment exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Cantharone Side Effects:

The most common Cantharone side effects are burning, itching, tingling within a few hours of applying it to the skin, and very tender skin for 2 to 6 days. If you are experiencing any uncommon side effects such as annular warts, please inform your doctor immediately.

Cantharone Precautions:

Do NOT use Cantharone for warts if you are allergic to Cantharidin or any of the ingredients in Cantharone medication. Cantharone molluscum should NOT be used on people with diabetes, peripheral arterial disease, and other circulatory problems. Do NOT apply Cantharone plus on birthmarks, moles, on or near the genital area, open wounds, unusual warts with hair growing, or warts on the mucous membranes.
