Cipro Information:

Cipro (Generic name: Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride) is an antibiotic medication prescribed to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Ciprofloxacin belongs to a class of drugs called quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growing of bacteria. Cipro is most commonly used to treat infections of the abdomen, bladder, bone/joint, ear, infectious diarrea, kidney, lung, prostate, sinusitis, skin, typhoid fever, and urinary tract infections. Cipro does not treat common cold, flu, cold sores, or other viral infections.

Cipro XR (Ciprofloxacin extended-release tablets) is used to treat urinary tract infections caused by certain bacterial. Take Cipro pills exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Cipro Side Effects:

The most common Cipro side effects are abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, nausea, and vomiting. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as confusion, depression, faint, hallucinations, mental/mood changes, suicidal thoughts, tremors, or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.

Cipro Precautions:

Do not take Cipro if you are allergic to Ciprofloxacin or any of the ingredients in Cipro medication. Before taking Cipro oral, tell your doctor if have had any medical conditions, especially of: central nervous system problems, diabetes, heart problems, kidney or liver disease, nerve problems, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), seizures, and tendon/joint problems. They may interact with Cipro drug, especially of: antacids, blood thinner, NSAIDs, steroids, tizanidine, and water pills.
