Detrol LA Information:

Detrol LA (Generic name: Tolterodine Tartrate Extended Release) is a prescription medication used to treat overactive bladder with symptoms of urinary frequency, urgency (increased need to urinate), or urge incontinence (inability to control urination). Tolterodine Tartrate belongs to a group of medications known as antispasmodics. It works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder to improve control the urination. Take Detrol LA capsules exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Detrol LA Side Effects:

Detrol LA is generally well tolerated. As with all medicines, some people who take Detrol LA may experience side effects. The most common Detrol LA side effects include as abdominal pain, constipation, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, and nausea. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as bloody urine, chest pain, fainting, irregular heartbeat, painful or difficult urination, seizures, vision changes, or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing, hiving, itching, rash, swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.

Detrol LA Precautions:

Do NOT take Detrol La if you are allergic to Tolterodine or any of the ingredients in Detrol La medication. Before taking Detrol La oral, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as bladder problems, difficult urinating, gastric retention, glaucoma, heart disease, intestinal/stomach problems, kidney or liver disease. Tell your doctor about all the prescriptions and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Detrol La drug, especially of: antifungals, antiparkinson’s, antispasmodic and anticholinergic drugs, or macrolide antibiotics. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
