Domperidone Information:

Domperidone (domperidone) is a medication used to increase movements or contractions of the stomach and bowel. Domperidone is also used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by other medications used to treat Parkinson’s disease. For the treatment of bowel movements, Domperidone works by blocking dopamine receptors in the gastrointestinal system, which allows for the lowering of sphincter pressure, leading to easier bowel movements. For the treatment of nausea and vomiting, Domperidone works by blocking dopamine receptors in the nervous system that control nausea. This medication should not be used by breast-feeding women to increase production of breast milk due to safety concerns. To make sure Domperidone is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have bleeding from the stomach or other problems involving the bowels, a pituitary tumor, or liver disease. Tell your doctor about any other medications you are currently taking in order to reduce the risk of interactions. Talk to your doctor if you are planning on breast feeding to discuss any possible risks. If you experience any serious side effects or signs of an allergic reaction.
