Edarbyclor Information

Edarbyclor (Azilsartan Medoxomil/Chlorthalidone) is used to control blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure helps to reduce the risk of complications like heart attacks, stroke, and kidney damage. Edarbyclor is a combination medicine containing Azilsartan Medoxomil and Chlorthalidone. Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) like Azilsartan Medoxomil work by relaxing blood vessels to help blood flow more easily and lower blood pressure. Diuretics like Chlorthalidone work by increasing the amount of urine your body makes to eliminate extra salt and water.

Edarbyclor Side Effects

Edarbyclor Precautions

Do not use Edarbyclor if you are allergic to Azilsartan Medoxomil, Chlorthalidone, or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have dehydration, diabetes, electrolyte imbalance, gout, heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, urination problems, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Ask your doctor about a blood pressure medication that is safer to use during pregnancy. Do not use Edarbyclor while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. It is unknown if Azilsartan Medoxomil passes into breast milk. Chlorthalidone may pass into breast milk. Do not give this drug to children below 18 years without talking to your doctor.

Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. You may take Edarbyclor with or without food. Keep using this medicine as directed, even if you feel well. High blood pressure often has no symptoms. You may need to use blood pressure medicine in the long term. Do not use potassium supplements or salt substitutes unless your doctor has told you to. Edarbyclor can make you dizzy. Do not drive or operate machinery until you can do it safely. Avoid getting up too fast from a sitting or lying position to reduce your risk of dizziness. Your doctor will check your kidney function and blood pressure during treatment with this medicine. Store this medication at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
