Estraderm Information:

Estraderm (Generic name: Estradiol Transdermal Patch) is the first widely available estrogen patch used to treat the symptoms associated with menopause such as abnormal uterine bleeding, chills, hot flashes, and sweating. Estraderm patch contains the active ingredient estradiol, which is a naturally occurring form of female sex hormone that releases drug into blood through the skin to help your body reach normal estrogen levels. Estraderm transdermal is a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) also can be used for the prevention of osteoporosis and deficiency in ovarian function. Use Estraderm skin patch exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Estraderm Side Effects:

The most common Estraderm side effects are breast tenderness, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, gas, headache, insomnia, nausea, stomach upset, vomiting, and weight changes. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as breast lumps, chest pain, confusion, easy bruising, fever, irregular heartbeat, jaundice, mental changes, numbness, unusual vaginal bleeding, vision changes, weight changes, or symptoms of an allergic reaction (difficult breathing; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.

Estraderm Precautions:

Do NOT use Estraderm transdermal system if you are allergic to Estradiol or any of the ingredients in Estraderm medication. Do NOT use Estradiol tts patch if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Before using Estraderm patch, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as asthma, blood clots, cholesterol, depression, diabetes, epilepsy or seizure disorder, fibroids, gallbladder, heart disease, hormone-dependent cancer, liver or kidney disease, stroke, thyroid, vaginal bleeding, and etc. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Estraderm tts, especially of: anticoagulants, antidepressants, antidiabetes, antifungals, barbiturates, carbamazepine, hypertension medications, phenylbutazone, prednisolone, seizure mediations, and St.John’s wort.
