Glyxambi Information

Glyxambi (Empagliflozin/Linagliptin) is used to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. This condition can cause complications like loss of sexual function, nerve problems, blindness, and loss of limbs. Controlling diabetes can reduce your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors like Empagliflozin work by increasing the removal of sugar by the kidneys. Dipeptodyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors like Linagliptin control blood sugar by increasing insulin release, especially after a meal, and by decreasing the amount of sugar the liver makes. Glyxambi is used together with diet and exercise to control blood sugar. The drug will not work for type 1 diabetes.
