Lescol Information:

Lescol (Generic name: Fenofibrate Sodium) is a cholesterol-lowering medication used to treat high cholesterol and triglycerides in the body. It reduces “bad” LDL cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein) and increases “good” HDL cholesterol in the blood. Fluvastatin is an enzyme blocker also known as a “statin”. It inhibits the production of cholesterol by the liver. Lowering your cholesterol together with a proper diet and exercise can help prevent heart disease, stroke, and vascular disease. Take Lescol exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Lescol Side Effects:

The most common Lescol side effects are constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, gas, headache, insomnia, nausea, stomach upset, and etc. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as dark urine, easy bruising or bleeding, jaundice, muscle pain, urination problems, vision problems, and serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; hives; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.

Lescol Precautions:

Do NOT take Lescol oral if you are allergic to Fluvastatin or to any of the ingredients in Lescol medication. Before taking Lescol, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as blood disorder, diabetes, liver or kidney disease, muscle disorder, and underactive thyroid. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Lescol drug, especially of: anti-diabetes, anti-ulcer, blood thinners, phenytoin, rifamycins, and other cholesterol lowering drugs.
