Levitra Information: Levitra (Vardenafil) is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence, in adult men. Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the inability to get or keep an erection firm enough for satisfactory sexual activity. It is a common condition that can stem from a combination of physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors, such as heart disease, diabetes, stress, and anxiety. Phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5) inhibitors like Vardenafil increase blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation, helping men achieve and maintain an erection during sexual activity. Levitra works only when a man is sexually stimulated. It does not cause an automatic erection.

Levitra Side Effects

The most common side effects of Levitra may include headache, stuffy nose, indigestion, back pain, and dizziness. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Priapism – an erection lasting more than 4 hours (seek immediate medical attention);
• Severe dizziness or fainting;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, breathing difficulties, itching, or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat;
• Signs of heart problems, including chest pain, irregular heartbeat, or shortness of breath;
• Sudden hearing loss

Levitra Precautions

Do not use Levitra if you are allergic to Vardenafil or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have bleeding disorders, blood cell disorders, eye problems, heart problems, a history of stroke, liver or kidney disease, low blood pressure, seizure disorders, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Levitra and other medications, such as terazosin, Viagra, ketoconazole, ritonavir, amiodarone, etc. Do not take Levitra if you are taking any form of nitrate (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, or amyl nitrite) or if you are taking riociguat, as this combination can cause a severe, life-threatening drop in blood pressure. Avoid taking grapefruit juice when taking Levitra. Grapefruit juice can increase Levitra levels in the blood, increasing the risk of side effects. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Levitra is not intended for use in women. Levitra is not for use in children or adolescents.

Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Levitra comes as tablets. Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or break it. This drug should only be used when needed, not every day. Take one tablet 30 to 60 minutes before sexual activity. The effect can last 4 to 5 hours. Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours. You can take Levitra with or without food. However, avoid high-fat meals, as they can significantly delay the onset of Levitra. This medicine works only when you are sexually aroused. Do not take Levitra with alcohol. Excess alcohol can increase the risk of dizziness or fainting. Store Levitra at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
