NexGard Combo Information

NexGard Combo (Esafoxolaner/Eprinomectin/Praziquantel) is used to prevent heartworm disease in cats. Heartworm disease is a serious disease that can result in severe lung disease, heart failure, organ damage, and death in pets. This disease is caused by a parasite that is spread through mosquito bites. NexGard Combo is also used to treat and control tick and flea infestations in cats and kittens at least 8 weeks old and weighing at least 1.8 lbs. Isoxazoline insecticides like Esafoxolaner, Avermectin insecticides like Eprinomectin, and Antihelmintics like Praziquantel interfere with the parasite's nervous system, causing their paralysis and death.

NexGard Combo Side Effects

The most common side effects of NexGard Combo may include appetite loss, diarrhea, lethargy, and vomiting. Call your veterinarian right away if your cat has any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Hypersalivation;
• Signs of seizures, including uncontrolled movements, loss of consciousness, excessive drooling, disorientation, etc.

Before you start administering this medication, tell your veterinarian about your cat's medical history, including if it has a history of seizures, neurologic disorders, breeding, pregnancy, or lactating. Tell your veterinarian about all your cat's medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between NexGard Combo and other medications. Your cat's dose and dosing schedule will be based on its weight. If the cat's weight requires a second application, apply the contents the same way and in the exact location. You can start treatment with NexGard Combo at any time of the year if you are treating flea and tick infestation. Administer NexGard Combo all year round at monthly intervals or begin at least one month before fleas or ticks become active.
