Onreltea Information
Onreltea (Brimonidine Tartrate) is a topical medication used to treat the persistent facial redness associated with rosacea. Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that primarily affects the face. Individuals with rosacea typically experience symptoms such as facial redness, visible blood vessels, and inflammatory bumps or pimples. Onreltea helps manage one key symptom: facial redness, which can significantly affect a person's appearance and confidence. The active ingredient in Onreltea is brimonidine tartrate, a member of the class of drugs known as alpha-2 adrenergic agonists. When applied to the skin, it works by selectively stimulating alpha-2 adrenergic receptors on the blood vessels in the face. This stimulation causes the blood vessels to constrict or narrow. The facial redness in rosacea is caused by the dilation or widening of blood vessels close to the skin's surface. By causing these vessels to constrict, Onreltea effectively reduces the blood flow to the affected areas, thereby diminishing the visible facial redness associated with the condition.
