Orgalutran Information

Orgalutran (Ganirelix) is used in fertility treatments to prevent premature ovulation in women undergoing ovarian stimulation. Premature ovulation is the early release of eggs from the ovary, while ovarian stimulation is a process where medications are used to encourage the ovaries to develop multiple mature eggs for fertility procedures. Premature ovulation during fertility treatment can negatively impact outcomes, potentially leading to cycle cancellation or poor-quality eggs that may not fertilize or lead to successful pregnancies. Synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonist like Ganirelix works by blocking the action of natural GnRH on the pituitary gland. This leads to the rapid suppression of the production of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in the pituitary gland.
