Prolopa Information:

Prolopa (Levodopa/Benserazide) is a prescription medication used to treat Parkinson’s disease. Prolopa is a combination of two key ingredients: Levodopa and Benserazide. Levodopa helps to control the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease by correcting the chemical imbalance in the brain, whereas benserazide lowers the amount of levodopa that is required. This medication works by producing dopamine in the brain to allow the body to move normally. Do not take this medication if you are allergic. Prolopa does not slow the progression of Parkinson’s disease but helps relieve symptoms. Talk to your doctor if you have a medical history of sympathomimetic amines (e.g. epinephrine), psychiatric disorder, active heart disease, blood-related conditions, endocrine disease, liver disease, lung disease, kidney disease, narrow-angle glaucoma, have taken MAO inhibitors (eg. moclobemide, phenelzine, tranylcypromine), under the age of 25 or may become pregnant. Take this medication as directed by your doctor. Consult your doctor for any possible side effects and precautions. If you experience any serious side effects, contact your doctor promptly.
