Relpax Information

Relpax (Generic name: Eletriptan Hydrobromide) is a headache medication to treat migraine headache attacks. Eletriptan HBr is a 5-hydroxytryptamine agonist (triptan). It works by narrowing the blood vessels in the brain, which helps to relieve migraine symptoms including headache pain, nausea, sensitivity to light and sound. Relpax will not treat a headache that has already begun. It will not prevent headaches or reduce the number of attacks. Take Relpax exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Relpax Side Effects

The most common Relpax side effects are diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, muscle or joint pain, nausea, joint pain, sleepiness, vomiting, and weakness. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, fainting, increased high blood pressure, mental or mood changes, numbness, unusual tiredness, vision changes, and symptoms of an allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; hives; rash; swelling of the lips, throat or tongue), please inform your doctor immediately.

Relpax Precautions

Do NOT take Relpax oral if you are allergic to Eletriptan HBr or any of the ingredients in Relpax medication. Before taking Relpax, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as angina (chest pain), blood circulation problems, heart disease, high blood pressure or high cholesterol, kidney or liver disease, migraine headaches, and seizures. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Relpax drug, especially of: antidepressants and other “triptan” drugs.
