Resolor is a selective serotonin 5-HT4 receptor agonist used to treat the symptoms of chronic constipation in adults in whom laxatives do not provide adequate relief. It works by stimulating 5-HT4 receptors in the gut, increasing intestinal motility, and triggering the muscular contractions necessary for a bowel movement.
Side Effects
Commonly reported side effects include headache, nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Some patients may also experience dizziness, vomiting, indigestion (dyspepsia), and fatigue, particularly during the first few days of treatment.
Contact your doctor if you have any of the serious side effects of Resolor, including:
• Ischemic Colitis: Very rare cases of reduced blood flow to the large intestine have been reported with similar medications.
• Palpitations: Unusual awareness of the heartbeat or a racing heart.
• Rectal Bleeding: Occasional reports of bleeding from the rectum.
• Severe Hypersensitivity: Rare but serious allergic reactions, including swelling or skin rashes.

Before changing your regimen, consult your doctor. While Resolor does not cause physical dependence or withdrawal symptoms, stopping the medication will likely cause your chronic constipation symptoms to return to their baseline.
Precautions:
Do not use Resolor if you have a known hypersensitivity to prucalopride succinate or any of the inactive ingredients in the tablet, such as lactose.
Tell your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have:
o History of arrhythmias or cardiac disorders.
o Intestinal perforation or obstruction.
o Renal impairment requiring dialysis.

Resolor is not recommended during pregnancy as there is limited data on its safety for the developing fetus. Women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception while on treatment. It is recommended to speak to your doctor immediately if you are planning to get pregnant. Prucalopride is excreted in breast milk; therefore, it is generally not recommended for use while breastfeeding.
If severe diarrhea occurs during treatment, the effectiveness of oral contraceptives may be reduced, and an additional method of contraception is recommended.
Store Resolor tablets at room temperature (15°C to 30°C). Keep the tablets in their original blister pack to protect them from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
