Rosiver (Ivermectin)

Rosiver (Ivermectin) is a topical medication used to treat inflammatory lesions of rosacea, specifically the papules and pustules that often appear on the face. Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder characterized by facial redness, flushing, and acne-like bumps. The exact cause is unknown, but factors contributing to this condition include an overactive immune response, inflammation, and an increased presence of Demodex mites on the skin. These mites are thought to contribute to inflammation and worsening of rosacea symptoms. The active ingredient in Rosiver is ivermectin, an antiparasitic agent that also possesses anti-inflammatory properties. While ivermectin is better known for treating parasitic infections, in topical form, it serves a dual purpose in managing skin conditions such as rosacea.

The mechanism by which ivermectin works in treating rosacea is not well understood. However, it is believed to work by reducing inflammation and killing Demodex mites on the skin. Its anti-inflammatory action may help calm the skin and reduce redness and swelling. At the same time, its antiparasitic effect may lower the population of mites that may trigger or worsen flare-ups. Together, these actions improve the appearance and symptoms of rosacea. Rosiver provides gradual but effective relief when used consistently. It is not a cure, but it helps control the signs and symptoms of the disease while improving skin health and the quality of life of affected individuals.

Rosiver Precautions

Do not use this medication if you are allergic to ivermectin or any other ingredients in Rosiver. Before applying this medication, ensure you inform your doctor about any medical conditions you previously or currently have, especially a weakened immune system caused by HIV or chemotherapy drugs. It is advisable to limit your exposure to the sun and wear protective clothing when outdoors while using this medicine. Consult your doctor before using this topical medication during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Rosiver is not recommended for use in children. Some other drugs may interact with topical ivermectin, increasing the risk of side effects. Therefore, inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines, including other topical medications that you are using, before starting Rosiver to prevent potential drug interactions.

Apply a thin layer of Rosiver cream once daily to clean, dry skin on the affected areas of your face. Avoid using alcoholic cleansers, astringents, abrasives, and other irritants that can further irritate the skin. Avoid contact with the eyes, lips, and the inside of the nose. Wash your hands after application, unless you are treating those areas. Use this medication consistently as prescribed to see improvement. Refer to the leaflets in the medication pack for additional usage information. Store this medication at room temperature, protect it from light and moisture, and keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
