Sebcur Information
Sebcur (Salicylic Acid) is a medicated product used to treat dry, itchy, and scaly scalp associated with conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, and psoriasis. These conditions often cause red, scaly, itchy, or flaky skin, particularly on the scalp. Sebcur helps manage symptoms by reducing excess skin cell buildup and inflammation. Sebcur's active ingredients are salicylic acid and coal tar, and it belongs to a class of drugs called keratolytics. Sebcur works by harnessing the keratolytic action of salicylic acid. In conditions like dandruff, psoriasis, and seborrheic dermatitis, there's an accelerated or abnormal shedding of skin cells, leading to visible flaking and scaling on the scalp. Salicylic acid helps to soften and dissolve the protein (keratin) that holds these dead skin cells together, promoting their easier removal from the scalp. Coal tar further helps by slowing skin cell growth and reducing inflammation. This dual-action formula reduces scaling, flaking, and itching associated with these conditions.
