Truvada Information

Truvada (Generic name: Emtricitabine/ Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, also called Tenvir EM) is an anti-HIV medication used for the treatment of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection and AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) in adults. Truvada is a once-daily fixed dose combination of two antiretroviral drugs: 200 mg of Emtriva (Emtricitabine) and 300 mg of Viread (Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate). Truvada prevents the HIV cells from producing new virus and decreases the amount of virus in the body. Take Truvada exactly as it was prescribed for you.
