Vistitan Information

Vistitan (Bimatoprost) is used to reduce pressure inside the eye for people with open-angle glaucoma or intraocular hypertension (increased pressure in the eye). Fluid is constantly formed and drained out of the eye. The pressure inside the eye increases when the fluid does not drain properly. In open-angle glaucoma, the increase in pressure is often small and slow. Without prompt treatment, the pressure can eventually damage your eyesight. Prostaglandin analogs like Bimatoprost lower pressure in the eye by increasing the flow of natural eye fluids out of the eye. The drug starts to work within 4 hours of being instilled in the eye.
