Vitamin A Acid Gel (Generic name: Tretinoin) is a topical acne therapy used to treat acne and blackheads. It is a vitamin A derivative that supposed to help skin whitening and smoother skin. Tretinoin helps acne by causing the skin’s outer layer to grow more quickly and be placed with new skin cell, which helps to reduce the formation of blackheads, whiteheads, and other acne lesions. You may see the full effect in 6 to 12 weeks of using this medication. Use Vitamin A Acid topical gel exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Vitamin A Acid Gel Side Effects:

The most common side effects of Vitamin A Acid Gel are burning, dry skin, lightening of skin, peeling, redness, and stinging sensation. If Vitamin A Acid topical gel causes severe blistered, burning sensation, irritation, itchy, pain, swollen, tenderness at the application site, inform your doctor immediately.

Vitamin A Acid Gel Precautions:

Do NOT use Vitamin A Acid topical gel if you are allergic to tretinoin or any of the ingredients in Vitamin A Acid Gel. Avoid using Vitamin A Acid topical if you have eczema or any other skin conditions. Tell your doctor about all the prescriptions and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use.
