Xerese (Generic name: Acyclovir and Hydrocortisone) is used to treat cold sores/fever blisters caused by a virus (herpes simplex). Acyclovir is an antiviral medication that works by stopping the growth of the virus. Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that helps relieve itching, pain, and burning symptoms. This medication can lessen the healing time in people aged 12 years and older, but it does not cure herpes. Brand Xerese is manufactured in Canada from Valeant Pharma. Xerese is available in 5 %/1 %/5 gm aqueous cream base. Use Xerese exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Xerese Cream Side Effects:

The most common Xerese side effects are skin drying, flaking, tingling, burning, redness, changes in your skin color, swelling at the application site. Xerese Cream Precautions:
