Zoloft Information:

Zoloft (Generic name: Sertraline Hydrochloride) is an antidepressant used to treat depression, certain types of social anxiety conditions, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) in adults over age 18. It is also approved for OCD in children and adolescents age 6-17 years. Zoloft may improve your appetite, energy level, mood, sleep and help restore your interest in daily living. It may decrease anxiety, fear, unwanted thoughts, and the number of panic attacks. Sertraline Hydrochloride is known as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). It affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause depression, panic, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive symptoms. Take Zoloft exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Zoloft Side Effects:

The most common Zoloft side effects include abdominal pain, constipation, decreased sex drive, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, insomnia, nausea, tiredness, and etc. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such chest pain, confusion, fast heartbeat, hallucinating, muscle stiffness, panic attacks, seizures, tremor, urination problems, vision problems, and symptoms of an allergic reaction (difficult breathing; hives; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.

Zoloft Precautions:

Do NOT take Zoloft if you are allergic to Sertraline HCl or any of the ingredients in Zoloft medication. Before taking Zoloft oral, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as bipolar disorder, heart disease, liver or kidney problems, seizures or epilepsy, suicidal or agitated behaviour, and thyroid disease.
