Combigan (Generic name: Brimonidine Tartrate and Timolol Maleate Ophthalmic Solution) is an approved NEW glaucoma drug available in an eye drop form used to reduce the pressure inside the eye for people with an open-angle glaucoma or elevated intraocular hypertension (IOP). Combigan eye drops contain two active ingredients - Brimonidine Tartrate and Timolol Maleate, they work together to produce a combined effect greater than either medicine produces on its own. Use Combigan eye drop exactly as it was prescribed.
The most common Combigan eye drops side effects include blurred vision, drowsiness, dry eye, dry month, headache, muscle weakness, stomach upset, taste changes, and sensation in eyes. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as confusion, eye pain, irregular heartbeat, numbness, vision problems, or serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; hives; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.
Do NOT use Combigan drops if you are allergic to Brimonidine Tartrate or Timolol Maleate, or to any of the ingredients in Combigan medication. Do NOT use Combigan ophthalmic solution if you have had any medical conditions such as asthma, circulation problem, COPD, depression, diabetes, heart disease, kidney or liver problems, muscle disorder, and overactive thyroid. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use, especially of: MAOIs. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Generic Combigan is not available at this time.
