Tecta (Generic name: Pantoprazole magnesium) is a drug used for the treatment and maintenance of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Pantoprazole magnesium is a NEW proton pump inhibitor (PPI) works to reduce the amount of acid stomach by blocking the action of an enzyme that produces acid in the stomach. Tecta also sometimes can be used along with antibiotics to treat intestinal ulcers. Take Tecta exactly as prescribed.
Tecta is well tolerated. The most common Tecta side effects include abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, flu-like symptoms, gas, headache, itching, nausea, and tiredness. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chills, dark urine, fever, jaundice, muscle pain, or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction (itching, rash, swelling, trouble breathing), please inform your doctor immediately.
Do NOT take Tecta tablets if you are allergic to Pantoprazole magnesium or any of the ingredients in Tecta mediation.
