Abilify Information:
Abilify (Generic name: Aripiperazole) is an approved antipsychotic medication for the treatment of schizophrenia and manic episodes associated bipolar I disorder. Abilify is also used together with other medications to treat major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults. Aripiprazole is known as an atypical antipsychotic medicine that affects certain substances in the brain. Abilify may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. Take Abilify exactly as it was prescribed for you.
Abilify Side Effects:The most common Abilify side effects are akathisia, anxiety, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, bowel complications, constipation, insomnia and restlessness. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as confusion, fever, fast heartbeat, sweating and serious allergic reaction (e.g., rash, itching, trouble breathing, swelling, severe dizziness), please inform your doctor immediately.
Abilify Precautions: Do NOT take Abilify if you are allergic to Aripiprazole or any of the ingredients in Abilify medication. Before taking Abilify oral, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as stroke, diabetes, heart problems, nervous system problems, obesity, trouble swallowing, alcohol or drug abuse. Tell your doctor about all the prescriptions and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Abilify drug, especially of: ketoconazole, quinidine, tegretol (carbamazepine) and medicines to treat high blood pressure or a heart condition. Use Abilify with caution especially in the elderly or children younger than 10 years old. Abilify medicine is not for use in psychotic conditions that are related to dementia. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
