Edarbi and Equivalent
Edarbi (Azilsartan Medoxomil)
Generic Equivalent of Edarbi
Edarbi Information
Edarbi (generic name: Azilsartan Medoxomil) is an angiotensin II receptor blocker, which is used to treat high blood pressure. It works by helping to relax and open blood vessels, allowing more blood flow, which can lower blood pressure in adults. Upon approval in February 2011, Takeda was proud to announce that Edarbi was significantly better at reducing blood pressure than two other leading hypertension medications. Edarbi can also be combined with other medications. Take Edarbi exactly as your doctor prescribes it to you.
Edarbi Side Effects
Edarbi is usually well tolerated. The most common reported side effect is diarrhea, which was only reported in 2 percent of those studied.
Edarbi Precautions
Talk to your doctor before using Edarbi if you are or plan on becoming pregnant, take diuretics, or get sick with vomiting or diarrhea. Talk to your doctor before taking Edarbi if you are taking NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), as some patients may be more susceptible to renal function deterioration. Pregnant women should avoid using Edarbi. Talk to your doctor if you become pregnant while using Ebarbi. Edarbi may be secreted in breast milk. Breastfeeding is not recommended while using Edarbi.
