Imvexxy Information

Imvexxy (Estradiol vaginal inserts) is used to treat moderate to severe painful sexual intercourse caused by menopause. Vaginal dryness, burning, and itching occur in menopause due to the body making less estrogen. Estrogens like Estradiol vaginal inserts prevent feelings of warmth in the face, neck, and chest or sudden strong feelings of heat and sweating in women during menopause.

Imvexxy Side Effects

The most common side effects of Imvexxy may include nausea; headache; weight changes; breast tenderness; Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Breast lumps;
• Increased vaginal irritation;
• Mood changes like depression and memory loss;
• Ongoing nausea or vomiting;
• Unusual vaginal bleeding

Imvexxy Precautions

Do not use Imvexxy if you are allergic to Estradiol vaginal inserts or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have undiagnosed vaginal bleeding; have certain cancers such as cancer of the breast, uterus, or ovaries; have a family history of breast lumps; have blood clotting disorders; have kidney disease; have liver disease; have high blood pressure; have diabetes; have obesity; have lupus; think you may be pregnant or plan to become pregnant; are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all the medications you take, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Imvexxy and other medications, like anastrozole; fezolinetant; ospemifene; tamoxifen. Do not use Imvexxy if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. Imvexxy is for use in menopausal women only. It is not known if this medication will harm your unborn baby. Do not use Imvexxy while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. Estradiol passes into your breast milk and may harm nursing infants. This drug is not safe for use in children. It may harm them. Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Imvexxy is available as a vaginal insert with an applicator. Gently insert the applicator into your vagina and press the plunger to release the tablet. If the tablet falls out before you insert it, throw it away and use a new tablet. It is best to use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. This drug may make you develop melasma (dark and blotchy areas on the skin}. Limit sun exposure to reduce the risk. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Store this medication at room temperature and keep it out of the reach of children.
