Lialda Information:

Lialda Suppositories (Generic name: Mesalamine Delayed Release Tablets) is a prescription medication used to treat ulcerative colitis, proctitis and proctosigmoiditis. Mesalamine is an anti-inflammatory agent used to treat inflammation of the digestive tract. It works inside the bowel by helping to reduce the inflammation and other symptoms of bowel disease. Lialda Mesalamine is also used to prevent the symptoms of ulcerative colitis from recurring. Take Lialda tablets exactly as it was prescribed for you.

Lialda Side Effects:

Lialda is generally well tolerated. The most common Lialda side effects are constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, flu symptoms, gas, headache, nausea, stomach cramps, and vomiting. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, fast heartbeat, fever, jaundice, sore throat, or symptoms of an allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.

Lialda Precautions:

Do NOT take Lialda oral if you are allergic to salicylates (including mesalamine or aspirin) or any of the ingredients in Lialda medication.
